Where's the real fiber? Glendale - Part X

Where Glendale is should be the question. It’s about 10 miles north of Downtown Los Angeles tucked in between Burbank and Pasadena. You can find some of the more well-known brands in Glendale from Nestle which has its main offices there to Disney and IHOP. Needless to say if you are thinking about moving your business to this area you will find that you have options connectivity. Let’s get into who you can find for reliable fiber internet service.

The massive AT&T is in Glendale in full force. Glendale is a business friendly city with office buildings to suit almost any need and you will be able to utilize AT&Ts network. You can expect to find broadband cable and voice service as well as enterprise fiber internet solutions and Ethernet transport services. If your business relies on always being on and broadcasting AT&T also does video fiber type of service which to me seems like a wave point to point or dark fiber. Acronyms get tricky with each carrier.

Spectrum is everywhere, so why not in Glendale? In most of the enterprise buildings Spectrum has built out the network to services every type of residential and enterprise business customer. Have to have the Dodgers! It would seem that you’re not moving your business to a high rise building on Brand because you want to have the Dodger game on but to run your business. You can expect reliable broadband voice and internet services that are cost effective all the way to enterprise fiber internet and Ethernet transport service to handle more mission critical applications. Spectrum is always readily available to help you out.

CenturyLink is in Glendale as well through the Level(3) acquisition. While I was with then TwTelecom I prospected and helped a couple handfuls of clients on Brand with dedicated internet access circuits. 500 Brand was an office building where I helped the most tenants and developed a nice relationship with the then property manager. CenturyLink is in most of the Brand buildings and if you move to Glendale you can find reliable internet service and high capacity wave and Ethernet point to point services.

Frontier is also in Glendale in a few select office buildings on Brand. You can get broadband internet and voice service and if you’re doing more than the basics you can get dedicated internet and enterprise grade Ethernet point to point services. Pricing for the enterprise services with Frontier is unknown to me at this point but I do remember when Verizon had their price finder on the website. Before Frontier took over their fiber in the ground pricing for 100Mb of up and down internet service was expensive. $2k+. Again, this was about 3 years ago and pricing always changes.

Zayo of course! They make a pit stop with some of the more prominent office buildings which hold global brands such as Disney and Yellow Pages. These clients will no doubt attract every major fiber provider to that one particular area. They just eat up tons of data and push out tons of content to consumers like you and me. How that all gets out to the internet for us to consume is over high capacity internet circuits and Ethernet and wave lines. These are the products that Zayo delivers to clients like the mentioned which allows them to continue to make great content for us to enjoy. If you do move your business to Glendale you’ll find Zayo as an option for reliable connectivity service.

Last that I know if Crown Castle Fiber. Through the Wilcon purchase Crown gained a massive Southern California regional fiber network that also mad a pit stop in Glendale as well. For reasons like Disney and other global brands they want true carrier diversity in the building and out on the network. What I mean by that is a completely different network in the ground outside of the building, nothing can overlap or be shared and that is what Crown Castle Fiber can offer to clients with big brand names. For enterprise business in the high rise buildings they’ll be able to subscribe to reliable dedicated internet access and high capacity transport services. I.E. Point to Point services.

As you can see from a fiber provider standpoint Glendale is a great place to bring your business to. Thanks to global brands calling Brand Blvd home you will have a full menu of options and pricing available to choose from. These are the providers that I know are in Glendale with their own fiber networks, if I missed anyone let me know in the comments!
